Zeroes and Ones

zeroesand1s is a software development agency that builds AI-powered systems, enterprise SaaS, mobile apps, and data analytics products. They needed a website that reflected who they are, technical, modern, but with a distinct visual personality that set them apart from the typical agency site.

What they asked for

The brief was specific. Retro aesthetic, black and white only, minimal. No gradients, no color, no noise. Just clean typography, strong layout, and a visual feel that nodded to early computing without looking dated.

The challenge was not the technology. It was the design. Getting a retro look to feel intentional rather than cheap is harder than it sounds, especially when you are constrained to two colors and no room to use visual variety as a crutch.

The design approach

The retro direction came from restraint. Black backgrounds, white text, monospaced type choices in the right places, and imagery that leaned into old hardware aesthetics. Every section had to earn its place because there was nowhere to hide weak decisions behind color or decoration.

The layout stayed minimal throughout. Clear hierarchy, generous spacing, and a structure that guided visitors from services to work to pricing without friction.

Getting the UI to feel right took the most time. Small things, type sizing, section spacing, how images were framed, made a significant difference to whether the retro direction read as intentional or accidental. Most of the iteration happened at this level.

What shipped

The site covers everything the agency needs to convert new clients. A services section that clearly communicates what they build, a values section, a work portfolio, a full tech stack showcase, client testimonials, and a tiered pricing section with three engagement models.

It is fully deployed on Vercel and live. The only remaining step is connecting the custom domain.
